Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd. was awarded the contract to construct a new concrete foundation for CN’s wheel truing machine at their Symington Yard location.

Works included support to install the new wheel lathe machine, along with conveyor and other equipment. One of the challenges of this project was working in an active workspace with very tight access to the area.

One of 20 intermodal facilities, Symington Yard is not only CN’s largest rail classification yard in Canada, it is one of the largest rail yards in the world.
