Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd. was awarded the contract to complete the hangar door upgrades at 17 Wing, Winnipeg. Working airside on an active air force base for the Department of National Defense required extra security requirements for this project.

Contract works included replacing the rail system on the top and bottom of the hangar doors, installation of new weather stripping, refurbishing of doors, adding insulation and liners. The existing operating system was upgraded as well as the installation of a new drainage to storm drain, with additional new power distribution and slab trace heating.
